The twelve selected authors have been announced for Undiscovered Voices 2010. Congratulations to them and to the honorary mentions! The anthology will be printed and sent out in early February 2010. We look forward to adding more success stories to our website.
Undiscovered Voices is an anthology of excerpts from unpublished children’s fiction from the members of SCBWI British Isles, as selected by a combination of editors and agents, produced free of charge by volunteers with the financial support of Working Partners. The printed anthology is sent to children’s book agents and editors to bring these undiscovered voices to the attention of industry professionals, in the hopes of getting the authors discovered.
From Undiscovered Voices 2008, eight of the twelve selected authors are now under contract to be published or are published. Four of the twelve had their exerpted novels contracted for publication: a two book deal in the US and the UK, a two book deal in the UK, and an eight book deal in the UK and a single title deal in the US. A fifth author won a book packager’s contract to write a four book series in the UK, and the three other authors had a different book contracted for publication.
